• Full or part-time employment (minimum 21 hours a week) for a year.
• Full or part-time secondment (minimum 21 hours a week) for a year.
• A consultancy contract for 100 days over the course of a year.

Paul Hamlyn Foundation is an independent grant-making foundation, with a mission to help people overcome disadvantage and lack of opportunity, so that they can realise their potential and enjoy fulfilling and creative lives. The Foundation supports charitable activity in the areas of arts, education and learning and social justice across the UK.

We are recruiting an experienced Research and Projects Officer (maternity cover) to contribute to the Foundation’s evidence and learning functions from spring 2018. The main purpose of this role is to assist the Foundation and the organisations we support to work effectively and secure impact in our priority areas. You will report to the Director of Evidence and Learning and you will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Foundation and with external partners.  

You will work on projects to test and pilot initiatives, to develop and implement our learning and to share knowledge with the sectors in which we work. 

This varied role includes: undertaking desk research; scoping new funding initiatives; carrying out consultations; compiling and analysing in-house or external data on trends that affect the Foundation’s work; drafting reports for different audiences and contributing to discussions across the Foundation and with grantees and other partners.

You are likely to work across our areas of strategic interest, which include access to the arts, migration and integration, work with young people and education and learning through the arts.

You will be someone who wants to make a difference through helping the Foundation to understand developments in the areas in which we work and to explore new opportunities. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong analytical, communication and relationship-building skills. Experience in planning, design and implementation of projects is important as are the skills required to work co-operatively with a range of people.

We are looking for someone with good organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work flexibly in a changing environment.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute actively to cross-team and multidisciplinary working within the Foundation; and to work closely with colleagues across the organisation and externally on a range of projects in support of the Foundation’s work.
