Job Description

Affiliated to the renowned mental health charity, MIND, we are looking to recruit an exceptional Operations Manager who will support and drive our expansion and manage our vital services.

Mind in Bradford has played a significant role within the mental health sector for over 30 years and our mission is:

  • To develop and maintain services which aim to assist in the relief, rehabilitation and recovery of adults living with emotional or mental distress
  • To provide and promote services that respond to the expressed need of the service-users and diverse population of the local area
  • To raise public awareness of mental health issues and to reduce stigma
  • To offer a  holistic approach to facilitate recovery and wellbeing
  • To uphold our ethos of service-user empowerment and involvement.

To help fulfil our mission, we proudly showcase four core services:

  • The Sanctuary; our new, ground breaking crisis service which provides practical and emotional support to adults experiencing acute mental distress
  • The Drop-In; open 6 days a week, offers an environment designed to promote inclusion and tackle social isolation, we also host a range of recovery based activities and are looking to expand further
  • Health and Well-Being; a holistic programme which delivers a variety of physical and mental health activities.
  • Guide-Line; open 365 days per year, our confidential telephone helpline provides much needed support and information to service-users, carers, family members and professionals.

Our organisation is going through an exciting period of change and modernisation. Within the last 12 months, we have increased our revenue by £250,000, launched a crucial new crisis service, refurbished our main building and recruited a new CEO. The next steps involve service redesign and ensuring the future sustainability of our organisation; the new Operations Manager can expect to be at the forefront of this.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience fulfilling similar duties and will have significant experience of service redesign, change management and managing staff. Among other key attributes, they will possess exemplary interpersonal skills and have a flexible and resilient approach.

Salary: £18470.40 pa (£30,784 pro rata 40 hours, per annum)

Hours: 24 per week

Duration: 6 months (continuation thereafter subject to funding)

Staff benefits: 25 days annual leave plus 8 statutory Bank Holiday’s per annum (pro rata).
