Business Lead
noah's ark childrens venture

Job Description

The Noah’s Ark Children’s Venture (NACV) was founded in Deptford Adventure Playground in the early 1970s with the prime objective of providing high quality; low cost short-stay residential breaks to groups working with disadvantaged children, young people and adults from the inner cities and elsewhere. Over the last 40 years it has helped more than 45,000 people who have used the Venture’s facilities, in groups of up to 42, for 3-7 day breaks.

Based in Macaroni Wood in the Cotswolds, NACV provides a valuable service, enhancing the quality of life for an average of 1,500 children, young people and adults each year, giving them the opportunity of a break from their disadvantaged backgrounds.

Noah’s Ark Children’s Centre, known informally as Macaroni Woods, is now seeking an outstanding individual with strong business and administration skills with a proven track record of fund raising and income generation to drive forward, along with the BoT ( Board of Trustees), the strategic and operational development of this well established and popular Charity. This will include supporting the Charity through a period of transition following the retirement of the two longstanding Centre Managers.

You will be the lead on the business, fundraising and strategic side of the Charity.

You will be passionate about the aims and objectives of the Charity, which is to provide high quality, low cost short-stay residential breaks to a very wide range of organisations from the voluntary and statutory sector including youth clubs, schools, colleges, community groups and support groups working with children, young people and adults from all backgrounds and ages from pre-school to senior citizen.

You will have experience of working with stake holders and experience of developing good partnerships with a variety of local and national organisations and to inspire fundraising and other income generating activities

We are looking for a business leader who is happy to be hands on as well as being strategic. You will be comfortable in working in close partnership with the Centre Leader and a small group of part time and voluntary staff in order to ensure the day to day business running of the Charity as well as the long term future of the Charity.

This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of the next stage of this long standing and hugely popular Charity and to help shape the future, alongside a dedicated group of Trustees and a well-established small group of staff
