About Music & Memory

At Music & Memory, we help people in nursing homes and other care organizations who suffer from a wide range of cognitive and physical challenges to find renewed meaning and connection in their lives through the gift of personalised music.

The Music & Memory programme has been rolled out to over 5,000 care homes globally  and has had an enormous impact on the lives of over 75,000 people living with dementia and other illnesses.  

Music & Memory UK plans to deliver the programme, adapting it where needed for the UK environment. By 2021 it aims to reach 17,000 people in care homes and 4,000 people cared for at home, with initial strategic focus on those with dementia.

About the role

The care home sales and engagement lead will drive the rollout of the Music & Memory programme in the UK by:

  • Building relationships with care homes

  • Explaining the benefits and costs of the Music & Memory programme

  • Providing support for care homes as they implement the programme

  • Tracking and reporting engagement progress to the Music & Memory UK executive team.

This is a part-time role (2 days per week), reporting to the CEO of Music & Memory in the UK. The role will be based at home with occasional travel to London.

Note that the deadline for applications is 30/11/2018 with interviews to be held in London during the following week.  

Responsibilities and Duties

Building relationships with care homes.

  • Contacting selected care homes to introduce Music & Memory

  • Following up with care homes in order to reach a decision about the adoption of the programme

  • Providing an ongoing single point of contact for that care home

Explaining the benefits and costs of the Music & Memory programme

  • The benefits to residents and carers

  • How it compliments other care activities and saves time

  • The cost/benefit value

  • The value to CQC and marketing the care home

Providing support for care homes as they adopt the Music and Memory methods

  • Providing support around training logistics

  • Answering initial questions about the programme

  • Following up to see how the programme is progressing

Tracking and reporting engagement progress to the Music & Memory UK executive team.

  • Keeping detailed records of the current status of each care home

  • Providing summary reports of progress to the Music & Memory UK team

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • Experience of working in care-home management at a mid-senior level

  • Sales / relationship building experience

  • Self-motivated and happy to work independently

  • Experience of keeping detailed records and providing reports.

Desirable:

  • Specialist knowledge of dementia care

  • Experience of training coordination

  • Presentation skills

  • A wide network of contacts within the care home sector

Nice to have:

  • Experience of using the Salesforce application.
