Job Description

National Family Mediation is seeking admin support to service its small but efficient Board. This crucial role will support the delivery of our objectives which are to support families who are experiencing relationship breakdown. Key responsibilities of the role are:

1. Taking minutes at meetings, including typing them up and sending them to Trustees with other paperwork required in a timely manner to allow trustees to make proper informed decisions.
2. Ensure that the charity pursues its objects as defined in its governing document, charity law, company law and other relevant legislation/regulations.
3. To work in partnership with the Senior managment team and the Chair of Trustees and the other Trustees, helping NFM make positive impact in its field.
4. Ensuring that all Trustees full participate on the board of trustees both during meetings and also outside of meetings.

Work with the CEO and Chair to ensure NFM meets its obligations.

Time Commitment & Work Location:
This role requires approx. 6-8 hours per meeting. Meetings are held 4 times per year and take place in London. Meetings are usually held between 12pm-3pm. NFM also holds an AGM. 

Experience, Qualities and Skills Required:
1. Experience in secretarial/administrative work or as a Company Secretary.
2. Previous Trustee experience is desirable although not essential.
3. Experience of  managing your own work loads and the work loads of Trustees effectively and the ability to work collaboratively with people, businesses and partnership organisations as may be required.
5. Good, independent judgement, political impartiality and the ability to think creatively in the context of the organisation and external environment.
