Chair
3-4 days per month

Quarterly board meetings take place in Stratford, London but we welcome applications from individuals based across England and Wales

We’re looking for a passionate, empathetic and ambitious new Chair to help make our mission a reality. 

This is a unique role, with the opportunity and privilege to support change across England and Wales, helping to tackle the challenges facing those experiencing mental health problems.  As an experienced senior leader, you will bring a thorough understanding of what good leadership and effective governance looks like to ensure that our collective voice is heard and inspires change. As someone with a passion for mental health and an empathy for Mind’s values, you’ll want to make a difference.

After nine years as Chair of Mind, a period of great change and success, Ryan Campbell’s term is coming to an end. As Chair, he has overseen the organisation develop a central role in transforming mental health, helping us to change attitudes, influence government and support millions of people.

As our new Chair, you will build on these achievements and deliver our strategy. This role is vital in ensuring that we continue to put people with lived experience of mental health problems at the heart of our work. You will embody our values, leading an organisation that is effective and transparent.

An exceptional and effective influencer with excellent relationship building skills, you will build relationships and foster partnerships with our local Mind network, across the mental health sector, other charities, government and business. With outstanding communication skills and strong financial acumen, you will possess the ability to work closely with our Chief Executive and lead our Board, as well as demonstrate the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
