Director Psychological Therapies + Wellbeing Services (maternity cover)
mind in the city, hackney & waltham forest

Job Description

When you're experiencing a mental health problem, access to good quality community-based services is life changing.

Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest is currently the largest Mind in London, supporting around 4200 clients per year in their wellbeing, resilience and recovery. Our services aim to incorporate cutting-edge best practice, built on a person-centred ethos which values client involvement and choice.

We rely on this role to provide the highest level of professional expertise and leadership to achieve this - and to deliver the core of our services to the community.

This is a key member of the senior management team, working closely with the CEO to maintain the quality of our services and our leading reputation in the communities we serve. It is an opportunity to champion best practice provision and potentially influence the future of mental health provision in the UK.

You will be a qualified and experienced practitioner, with a sound understanding of best practice and experience of successfully managing and delivering a range of mental health services in community-based settings, including Psychological Therapies, IAPT, Wellbeing and Recovery services. Your clinical expertise will be supplemented by the management and strategic skills needed to deliver commissioned services in the most cost effective way, within tight budgets, as well as develop new services. You will be leading a team of energetic and highly skilled managers across 3 teams and input on the strategic direction of the organisation.

Collaborative and team-working skills will enable you to make a success of partnership working and your cultural sensitivity will enable you to engage with those who are most vulnerable. Most importantly, your commitment to excellence, and improving the lives of people with mental health problems will inspire and motivate all those around you, and ultimately help to change attitudes towards mental health.

This is a maternity cover from July 2019 for between 9 and 12 months. We are flexible about the terms of an appointment, and welcome applications from self-employed professionals or possible secondments. We are also open to discussions about flexible working arrangements to suit your needs.
