Job Description

The Methodist Church in Tower Hamlets comprises four churches and two projects - one for carers and one for people with mental health issues - serving London’s East End. We are dependent on volunteers to assist in the realisation of our mission to respond to the Gospel of God’s love in Christ. More volunteers are required to support current and planned future mission work. The Volunteer Coordinator will work alongside our existing staff but with a focus on the management of volunteers. Their role will be to ensure that volunteers are appropriately recruited, trained, developed, and are loved, cared for and appreciated.

The role suits an organised thinker, with good planning and organising skills, with HR experience in the charity sector, who has a real commitment to assisting people to develop to the full extent of their capabilities in the service of others.

The post holder will represent the Methodist Church and its inclusive ethos to external bodies.
