Could you help us to reach out to our community to improve take up of existing projects and help local poeple to design and deliver projects themselves? 

Three year fixed term contract (subject to on-going funding) working to deliver the Local Conversation in Merstham

Local Conversations is a People’s Health Trust initiative which involves supporting residents to develop a shared vision for their community and take local action on issues that matter to them.

 People’s Health Trust currently funds 20 Local Conversations across Great Britain. It engages with local communities over the longer term (up to nine years), so that they can determine how and when resources are best spent within their local area.

 The programme aims to reduce health inequalities by ensuring that control is collectively in the hands of local people. Research shows that the extent to which people can control what happens to them is one of the key social determinants of health. Each Local Conversation is in a neighbourhood experiencing disadvantage with approximately 4,000 to 5,000 residents

The successful candidate will work to deliver an engagement plan targeting people in the most deprived areas in our community and support those residents to become active in designing and leading our projects. The Engagement Worker will have a particular role in engaging children, young people and families
