Information and Communication Officer
scleroderma society

Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join a leading UK charity as their Information and Communication Officer.

The Scleroderma Society is a leading UK charity dedicated to supporting diagnosed individuals and their families whilst actively raising awareness, challenging decision-makers and funding research.

Scleroderma is a rare autoimmune condition which involves the overproduction of collagen. This is deposited in the body’s tissues causing hardening and scarring of the skin and internal organs. ‘Normal’ life can become a struggle and the simplest of tasks can become impossible, as the condition reduces normal function of affected areas. Scleroderma has no cure and can lead to physical disability or even death.

We make living with scleroderma manageable by offering much needed support to diagnosed individuals but also to their families, carers and friends.

You will hold a central role within the Charity, ensuring that all communication material is accurate, accessible, impartial, balanced, based on evidence and well-written. You will monitor the Charity's impact online, report on key trends and develop new initiatives and campaigns to increase traffic.

You will be joining the Charity at a very exciting time as we look forward to the future of scleroderma patient-care. The contract is for an initial 6 month period, as the Scleroderma Society and Raynaud's and Scleroderma Association are working towards merging into a brand new charity Scleroderma and Raynaud's UK (SRUK). You will play a vital role in developing excellent communication material for the Scleroderma Society, with the possibility of then joining SRUK.

The client is happy to conduct telephone interviews for overseas candidates.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
