Independent Supporter Co-ordinator
£25,000 p.a. pro rata, plus 5% pension contribution, hrs 37.5hrs – 30hrs per week
Brent Carers Centre currently has an excellent opportunity for an Independent Support Co-ordinator to lead on our IS Service and support families of children and young people with SEN and disabilities.
The role of the Independent Support Co-ordinator will be to lead a small team as well as provide help, advice and support to any family or young person going through a statutory Education Health and Care needs assessment and those who are transitioning over to the new Education, Health and Care assessment and planning process. If you have a relevant NVQ 3 qualification, would relish the challenge of this established Independent Support Service and are able to demonstrate: -
- Previous knowledge and experience of working with children with special educational needs and disabilities and the EHC process - highly desirable.
- Experience of working within an environment relevant to special educational needs and disability
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate with schools, the local authority and partner agencies.
- Experience of advising, empowering and supporting parents and /or young people.
