Inclusion London (IL) is seeking to appoint a Deaf or Disabled person for the post of:
Campaigns and Justice Officer
IL is London’s leading disability equality organisation run by and for Deaf and Disabled people.
We want to appoint a highly motivated Deaf or Disabled person as Campaigns and Justice Officer to help strengthen the collective voice of Deaf and Disabled Peoples Organisations (DDPOs) in London and build their capacity to use the law and human rights approaches within their voice and campaigns work.
Your duties will include:
- Working with DDPOs in London to identify campaign, voice, training and information needs
- Supporting DDPOs to develop effective strategies to influence decisions at local and regional level
- Develop, with the Director of Campaigns & Justice and IL’s legal advisor bespoke DDPO legal and human rights resources
- Co-ordinate and run regular peer campaigning, learning and training opportunities for DDPOs.
You will have:
- Experience of working in a similar role developing campaigning strategies and running successful community engagement, campaigns and policy work
- Excellent campaigning and policy skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage and develop effective relationships with a wide range of people
- Experience of meeting quantitative and qualitative monitoring and evaluation requirements
- Able to design and deliver accessible briefings, training workshops
- A Commitment to, and in-depth understanding of, the Social Model of Disability and Cultural Model of Deafness.
Salary: £35,700 p.a.
Hours: 35 hours per week
Pension contribution: 5% of salary
Contract length: 3 year contract
Leave: 25 days per year plus Bank holidays
