We’re supporting the development of the next generation of activists; apply for a paid internship in our Forests team for up to 6-months.

About Global Witness

The food we eat, the rings on our fingers and the furniture in our homes, all too often, behind these everyday items there is an environmentally destructive reality. 

At Global Witness we investigate and campaign to stop human rights and environmental abuses caused by corruption and the exploitation of natural resources. 

About the role

You'll support an ambitious campaign to change the investment behaviours and policies of financiers.  We will campaign for regulation and change in policy to prevent or make it harder to invest in companies or projects linked to the destruction of the world’s climate critical tropical forests.

Working in the forests team, you will research companies and policy makers to identify key advocacy and media opportunities, as well as assisting in investigations to achieve change in business practice and advocate for policy and regulatory change.

You’ll receive London Living Wage. We’re based in Shoreditch at a fantastic Wework office, the nearest tube is Old Street.

This internship does not guarantee employment with Global Witness after the scheme is completed. 

About you

You’ll be passionate about learning and pursuing career in human rights, advocacy or environmental issues. You’ll have an undergraduate degree or similar, and have a keen interest to understand more about deforestation and the financial systems that enable this.

You will have excellent research and analytical skills.  A committed team player, you thrive in an environment which values collaboration. Finally, you’ll be deeply committed to Global Witness’ aims – and excited about working to make our goals a reality.

You’ll be allocated a manager who’ll regularly review how you’re getting on and provide opportunities to maximise your learning and experience with us.
