Job Description

Girlguiding is looking for a new Head of Governance to work closely with the Chair of Trustees and CEO to oversee Girlguiding’s governance function, ensuring that the Girlguiding Board of trustees are supported to direct Girlguiding to standards of governance excellence.

Girlguiding is one of largest voluntary youth organisations in the UK and more than half of the female population has been involved in guiding at some point in their lives. We are in an exciting phase of development and, following a recent governance review, are looking for an experienced Company Secretary or governance expert to implement the review outcomes and to drive identified strategic improvements.

We are looking for a hands on senior specialist, preferably with experience in a federated charity environment, to ensure organisational compliance; the planning and management of governance agendas and papers and to be the national governance expert for Girlguiding.

Reporting to Ruth Marvel our Deputy Chief Executive, you will be highly skilled in building strong, positive and productive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.  You will think strategically and act collaboratively.
