Habitat for Humanity Great Britain (HFHGB) is part of the international Habitat for Humanity network.  We tackle poverty housing around the world by working in partnership with communities and families to achieve their dreams of a safe and decent place to live.

The role

The Head of Finance leads the HFHGB’s finance and compliance activities. The post-holder ensures the appropriate use of our resources and takes responsibility for our day to day accounting, financial management, management information, and financial reporting.  The Head of Finance is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and participates in the development of the strategic planning and direction of the organisation, working closely with the CEO, Head of Partnerships and Programmes, Head of Income Generation and the Head of Supporter Services, and leading on matters regarding financial strategy and systems management.

We are looking for someone with a demonstrable track record of successful financial management and experience working with small to medium-sized charities and limited resources.  You will be someone with a talent for financial systems management to achieve maximum benefit to the charity.

We want someone who is comfortable taking initiative and who is a strong colleague.  You will be someone who will find the right way to work with all team members and with trustees, who wants to lead the whole team in its interaction with financial systems, compliance and risk, and so has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
