Job Description

At Group of Good Deeds we have a fantastic team of volunteers who give up their time to help us. They fulfil a wide range of Front of House roles including greeting our visitors, Helping in our charity shop, and lending a hand at special events.

Some volunteers come in once a week, but others just help out whenever they can. They play a vital role at Group of Good Deeds and are fundamental to our success and sustainability.

Volunteer Role Description

Title: Charity shop Volunteer

Reporting to: Charity shop Manager

Time Commitment: Minimum of one half day (3.5 hours) per fortnight

Title: Front of House Volunteer

We are recruiting for a Charity shop volunteer to join our wonderful Barkingside team and deliver an excellent retail service, ensuring that every customer has a great shopping experience. As a Volunteer you will contribute towards maximising shop sales and profits as well as the successful day to day running of the shop.

As a Charity Volunteer you will be;

· Delivering an excellent retail service, ensuring that every customer has a great shopping experience.

·  Supporting with sales, stock rotation, organising displays and store tidying and much more, whilst representing GGD in a professional manner and reflecting our core values.

Skills & experience:

Although no prior skills are required, this is one of the most vital roles at GGD; Our volunteers are on the front line as our charity shop staff dealing with our regular customers and the local community.

The ideal person for this role will be with good communication skills interested in charity work and helping the community and enjoy the opportunity to talk to customers. Experience in a customer service role may be helpful.
