Job Description

We recently introduced a new organisational structure and we're now undertaking a major recruitment exercise for staff to fill the new positions. We're seeking staff in marketing, design, sales, policy, research, engagement, governance, administration, training, finance, IT and customer support. Previous experience of students' unions, universities or charities is not required. Applicants should be positive, proactive and willing to learn new things in a challenging but enjoyable environment.

The governance support manager will be responsible for managing the governance and compliance functions. We are a complex organisation with many rules. We want to simplify all of this and embed the idea that good governance should support and enable the running of the Union and the achievement of our objectives.

The key duties include:
- developing and implementing processes to support sound decision-making at all levels;
- managing the secretarial support for committees and enhancing the quality of information provided to committees;
- ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and other requirements and filing returns;
- maintaining records and ensuring information is open and accessible to the membership.
