Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated learning professional to join our well-established Learning Team. You will be responsible for developing and delivering a range of heritage learning sessions and resources, mainly to primary school pupils. Your major focus will be at the Museum of Somerset, one of the premier museums in the South West of England, which has its own well-resourced learning facilities. The South West Heritage Trust has an established subscription learning service which is offered to schools across Somerset.

You will need a passion for engaging young people with their heritage, have strong communication skills and an ability to work alongside a wide range of schools and partner organisations. You will also have opportunities to develop and run specific projects with groups of schools and other local organisations.

The South West Heritage Trust is a charity which delivers a broad range of heritage services across Somerset and Devon that were previously delivered by local authorities. We manage and run three museums (including the Museum of Somerset), 2 Archives and Local Studies services and look after the historic environment in Somerset. 

Based at the Somerset Heritage Centre in Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton there will be the need for travel to the other sites managed by the Trust and presence at events as required.

Salary: £27,179 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week
