Faculty Representation Coordinator (recruiting for 3 posts)

35 hours per week annualised (1827 total hours – made up of 1547 working hours and 280 holiday hours)

LiverpoolSU is the Students’ Union for over 20,000 students at Liverpool John Moores University and exists to help all of our members love student life. We do this through running sports, clubs, societies and events; campaigning with and on behalf of students; and offering support advice and information. We want our students to have the best academic and social experience Liverpool can offer.

This is an exciting time to be joining the Academic Engagement and Support Team, as we enter a year of real change, both with the way we do things internally and the Higher Education landscape nationally. Working with the Representation Manager you will assist the work of the team  to make LJMU a better University for students, by developing, facilitating and supporting opportunities for students to engage in academic representation and have full input on matters relating to their academic experience in 1 Faculty.

As Faculty Representation Co-ordinator you will:

  • Work with the Faculty Sabbatical Officer and Vice President Academic Quality to develop a Course Rep scheme that accurately and legitimately represents LJMU students and creates positive change AND enables students to build their employability status and be fully aware of how to use and demonstrate the skills they’ve received makes them more employable.

  • Work to support the University and LiverpoolSU in achieving its quality targets for education

  • Ensure that academic members of staff & LJMU administrators feel that they are LiverpoolSU’s partners and they see the benefit of the  Course Rep Scheme and are keen to promote it

  • Ensure excellent standard of management and support for Course Reps, the VPAQ and Student Voice Support Assistants that role models excellent behaviour and creates a team of motivated, ambassadorial people working towards shared goals
