Job Description

MiSST are looking for a candidate with strong administrative and project management skills to act as the lynchpin for our charity which provides instrumental music education to almost 4,000 Key Stage 3 students.

The successful candidate will manage the MiSST office, all the administration of the charity, and the event management aspects of the annual concert, residential and fund-raising activities. The role would suit an experienced administrator who has event management skills and would also suit ambitious candidates looking for future roles as a Charity Manager, PA, or Arts Events Organiser.  A key part of the role will be preparing for our 5th anniversary concert to be held at the London Palladium in April 2018.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To lead on and provide administrative support alongside managing the MiSST Office
  • To lead and manage MiSST trips, residential(s), major events and fund-raising activities
  • To manage the Saturday Music School and the MiSST Primary Music Centre 
  • To be the lead person for all media enquiries and publicity
  • Managing the office including ensuring supplies and equipment are available as required
  • Managing records of staff movements to schools, meetings and planning time
  • To ensure that all governance documentation is up to date and compliant
  • To liaise with school Heads of Department and Music Administrators regarding events, residential(s), Saturday Music School, Primary Music Centre, instrument orders, data requests etc.
  • Maintain & update the MiSST website and resources portal for partner schools
  • To keep accurate records of attendance and progress at the MiSST Saturday Music School & Islington Primary Music Centre, ensuring regular analysis to identify emerging trends and/or issues
  • To ensure that MiSST has up to date publicity material for all events
