Job Description

ERSKINE has been caring for members of the ex-Service community for 100 years. The principal activity of Erskine has continued to be the provision of nursing, dementia and respite care to ex-Service men and women. In response to the declining number of veterans this care is also available to qualifying spouses, members of the Merchant Marine who were deployed on active service, in support of the armed forces, members of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary and members of the Home Guard.  Erskine has cared for 724 ex-service men, women and qualifying spouses over the last 12 months.  In addition Erskine provides housing for veterans and recently has established an Activity Centre.  We are seeking further Trustees to join the Board to provide oversight and governance. There are quarterly Board meetings and each Trustee would also be expected to join one of the Board Committees. There may also be one or more Board workshops/seminars which would most likely be between two hours and a full day.

TRUSTEES

The Charity is particularly interested in candidates who bring significant board experience in the following areas:

• Clinical Governance and ideally within a care home/health sector environment

• General Business Management and ideally HR

• Finance and ideally investment and/or fundraising
