32 hours / 4 days per week

Salary range: £22,500 - 25,000 pro-rata

Engage, the National Association for Gallery Education wishes to recruit an Administration Officer to lead and support in the efficient running of memberships; support Engage training activities and research; provide logistical and administrative support for the Director and other staff; and to contribute to the effective daily running of the office and Engage projects. The role reports to the Operations Manager.

This is an opportunity to be part of a small team in a national visual arts education organisation. The Administration Officer plays a key role in the production of Engage’s annual conference (up to 250 delegates), administers international awards and assists with projects with a national remit. The postholder will have good communication skills and be highly numerate, with the ability to be proactive and a flexible team player. An efficient administrator, they will have experience of managing events, budgets, and IT. Experience administering a membership scheme and of working in the arts, education or the third sector would be advantageous.

Engage is the lead advocacy and training network for gallery education. We support arts educators, organisations and artists to work together with communities in dynamic, open exchanges that give everyone the opportunity to learn and benefit from the arts. Engage has 800+ members in the UK and abroad in c.270 organisations. Engage is an Arts Council England Sector Support Organisation and receives funding for its programmes in Scotland from Creative Scotland and for the programme in Wales from the Arts Council of Wales. Funding has also been received from trusts and foundations, individuals and the corporate sector.
