BLIND IN BUSINESS EMPLOYMENT MANAGER

Full Time (37.5 Hours a week)
 
SALARY:      £27,000-£35,000
 
Benefits:    Contributory Pension Scheme, 25 Days Annual Leave
 
Purpose of Job.    
 
The overall aim is to deliver and develop Blind in Business’ core service which is to help blind and visually impaired students, particularly graduates, into employment. This involves attracting those who can benefit from our help and working with them to identify their target roles, and to become motivated and better prepared to compete for good jobs.  The Job Holder also works with employers to mitigate their concerns about employing visually impaired students and to find good ways to make reasonable adjustments to get the most out of successful recruits.
 
The Job Holder will visit universities to find suitable candidates and will typically encourage them to work on their job search from our City office in a disciplined way. This develops their confidence and helps define and raise their aspirations.The Job Holder will train and help the candidates prepare and practise for every stage through to appointment to a graduate job, especially in Graduate Recruitment Schemes.
 
The Job Holder will develop our links with employers, to encourage them to see the benefits of recruiting from this talented and loyal group of candidates.
 
Each year you will aim to help 120 students and graduates towards education or employment.

The Job Holder will be a graduate with several years experience in the voluntary sector or other relevant discipline. They will be a good presenter and motivator, energetic, self-organised and empathetic.
