Reporting to the Head of Schools Engagement, the Schools Engagement Coordinator is responsible for working closely with school teachers and careers advisors focusing on secondary and further education (FE) establishments in supporting access to and effective usage of Inspiring the Future and related services; developing resources and guidance to support with this; and delivering funded projects aimed at these audiences.

Working with the Head of Schools Engagement, the Engagement Coordinator must understand the current employer engagement landscape for secondary and FE, and be able to identify key trends and best practice, helping to develop guidance and resources that optimises usage of Inspiring the Future platform among secondary and FE colleges as well as developing new and existing relationships within this community.

Education and Employers is a small charity working at a rapid pace to bring about change. This is a demanding role requiring the successful candidate to be an agile worker, capable of absorbing key information quickly, as well as handle a voluminous work load in order to meet the high demand from schools and FE colleges keen to engage further with the Inspiring the Future service.

Key Accountabilities

Driving up Inspiring the Future (ITF) school engagement

  1. Working with secondary schools and FE colleges which have registered for ITF via email and phone to encourage greater use of  the system and drive up engagement with the programme across the country.
  2. Delivering to KPIs around number of schools registered, engaged and school satisfaction levels.
  3. Tracking and reporting back to Head of Schools Engagement on delivery against agreed targets.
  4. Hosting webinars and occasional face to face meetings with schools directly to help them use ITF and delivering presentations at group meetings and conferences.
  5. Developing relationships with new schools, networks and teacher associations, promoting the full range of the charity’s programmes and services and assisting them with registering for ITF
  6. Supporting development of guidance and tools for schools and colleges in effectively using the system and promoting these, obtaining feedback on their usefulness and updating as appropriate
  7. Using Salesforce CRM to manage relationships with teachers and careers support staff, maintaining up to date records and supporting data cleansing as needed
  8. Attending occasional school career events to support the running of special events and to undertake brand ambassadorial activities events
  9. Liaising with schools to invite volunteers and supporting the hosting of ITF events at the secondary / FE college level
  10. Keeping on top of key trends and topics in employer engagement for secondary and FE colleges

Project Delivery

  1. Supporting delivery of any funded projects with a focus for secondary and FE colleges including but not limited to employer funded projects, understanding the key targets of these projects and delivering to KPIs
  2. Assisting Head of Schools Engagement with tracking and reporting back to key stakeholders on funded projects

Other

  1. Alongside the Schools Engagement Coordinator (Primary) and Schools Projects Assistant, managing the enquiries mailbox for ITF ensuring messages are passed on to the appropriate team member for response and ensuring these are appropriately responded to
  2. Providing general support to the schools team on school engagement, events coordination, project delivery as needed
  3. Other ad hoc administrative tasks to support the team as needed

Person specification

Skills/ Knowledge/ Expertise

Essential

  • Experience in successful relationship management – ability to engage confidently and sensitively with schools/colleges and at a range of levels of seniority up to and including head teacher level
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills including close attention to detail and effective time management 
  • An articulate and confident communicator who is influential, and effective in presenting a concept both face to face and on the phone.
  • Good level of education, demonstrating capability in producing written content to a high standard. Comfort and confidence in working with data.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing a diverse workload; being able to prioritise work and working under pressure. 
  • Good working knowledge and practical application of Microsoft office tools

Desirable

  • Experience of client relationships management databases in particular Salesforce
  • A passion for realising a closer integration of and collaborative working between education and employment sectors
  • Experience of working in a small team
  • Experience of working with schools and volunteers
