Job Description

Are you dynamic and resourceful, and motivated by helping others to help themselves?

The Personal Support Unit (PSU) is a growing, independent charity providing practical and emotional support to people facing court hearings without lawyers. Most people are frightened of, and unfamiliar with, the courts and many are in danger of losing their homes, children or livelihoods.

This highly regarded, energetic and friendly charity, is now seeking a Coordinator to establish our new service in Chelmsford.

With support from the PSU management team and colleagues across the PSU network, you will work with the local court staff to establish our new Unit in Chelmsford. You will set up the office and recruit, enthuse and support volunteers to help litigants in person help themselves.

You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, building and sustaining partnerships with key agencies, and local fundraising.

You will be an engaging communicator, and a practical, and well organised individual, who may already have done some work in the voluntary sector, or can provide evidence of the transferability of your experience.

Applicants should apply with a CV and a covering letter explaining persuasively why we should offer you the post. It is important that your letter should provide evidence of the criteria detailed in the person specification.

If, after reading the information below and the job details, you think you could establish our next new PSU, we would welcome your application.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
