Job Description

Over the last 10 years we have developed a reputation for excellence and our Fellows lead change in fields from financial inclusion to dementia care, international development to housing, and they include social activists, entrepreneurs, charity CEO's and senior managers.  

Job purpose

We are looking to appoint a Leadership Development Coach to support participants on our programmes.The successful candidate will be a qualified coach who will be capable of creating sustained improvement in personal performance and effectiveness, enhancement of team performance, and cultural and behavioural change.The post holder will be one of the central points of contact for programme participants in relation to their learning and development and will meet with individuals for a set number of one-to-one coaching sessions. They will also help with development and implementation of a Find-a-Coach service designed to serve the sector as a whole.

Main responsibilities

  • To provide one-to-one coaching to programme participants, allowing individuals to improve personal performance and effectiveness, and overcome organisational and strategic challenges. It it expected that coaching will be 3-days per week, mostly conducted by distance (either telephone or video conferencing)

  • To support the creation of Leadership Development Plans at the start of participants' engagement in Clore Social Leadership programmes, identifying personal and organisational objectives

  • To help develop,implement and manage a network of coaches nationwide that Clore Social can draw from for additional coaching capacity

  • To help develop and implement a Find-a-Coach service (online) that can be accessed by all the social sector leaders - expected to require 2-days per week

  • To act as Clore Social Leadership’s coaching expert, contributing to social sector debates and conversations

Person specifications

  • An in-depth knowledge of current coaching frameworks and methodologies and experience delivering high quality coaching

  • Knowledge of the latest trends in organisational learning and development for leadership

  • A commitment to social justice and social action

  • Pragmatic, resilient and able to work under own initiative

  • Effective communicator in writing and excellent interpersonal skills with a wide range of stakeholders

  • Energy, drive and sustained good humour

  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail

Qualifications and experience

  • A University degree

  • A formal coaching qualification, such as the International Coaching Federation Certified or Associate Coach (or equivalent)

Place, Hours of work and Reporting relationships

The post holder will be line managed by the Director of Programmes and Leadership Innovation.

The position is offered on a one year, fixed term basis with the possibility of extension. The post is full-time, 35 hours/week.

The place of work will be discussed during the interviewing process. Our offices are located at King’s Place, 90 York Way N19AG.

Salary and benefits

  • £40,000 - £45,000 p/a dependent on experience.

  • 25 working days’ holiday each year in addition to statutory holidays
