Citizens Advice Camden is seeking Trustees including a Treasurer

Citizens Advice Camden provides independent advice services to people who live, work or study in Camden. We are governed and managed locally but with the benefit of being part of the influential national organisation, Citizens Advice. We deal with over 9,200 clients a year and help with over 22,000 issues. We have an annual turnover of £1.1 million, over 30 paid staff who support 120 volunteers.

We are looking to appoint people who have the capacity to make a significant contribution; you may be on a break from employment, working part-time or retired. You will be helping to ensure that people in Camden have access to the quality assured advice service they need when they face problems and challenges in their lives. You will be able to influence others, promote access to justice and help create a fairer and more equitable society.

We are looking for a number of new Trustees, including a Treasurer, to be responsible for the overall direction, vision and strategy of Citizens Advice Camden. We are seeking people who can provide governance, leadership and enthusiasm to lead Citizens Advice Camden into the future.  

We seek candidates who can bring innovative ideas, enthusiasm for our values, and excellent judgment to help determine our objectives. You will be prepared to spend time working with us attending at least four evening Board meetings a year and also participating in one of two Standing Committees that meet each quarter.

You will have a background in one or more of the following: finance, audit, advice and legal services, HR/employment law, income generation, marketing and communication, and a passion for helping Camden residents.
