Job Description

UK charity Children’s Liver Disease Foundation takes action against the effects of childhood liver disease, providing information, emotional support, research funds and a voice for all affected. Please find out more about the difference we make on our website.

CLDF are looking to recruit a Young People’s Digital & Engagement Officer, a youth worker experienced in engaging with and supporting young people, who wants to embrace technology and work with young people no matter where they live in the country.

The main focus of the role is to engage with young people aged 11-24 living with a childhood liver disease, from across the UK, as they transition into adulthood. CLDF’s vision for the Young People’s service is to broaden engagement through a variety of digital mediums including telephone, email, social media, skype, messaging apps and CLDF’s unique social media platform HIVE. CLDF also offers three annual young people’s residential projects which the post holder will be integral to delivering. The service offers young people living with a liver condition a chance to increase their confidence and reduce social isolation, as well as supporting them to achieve their aspirations, as they transition into adulthood. We want to create opportunities that empower young people to take control of their lives, cope with chronic illness and signpost them to appropriate services through a holistic approach

The Young People’s Digital & Engagement Officer will be required to travel throughout the UK and support delivery of our family events and other initiatives. The Young People’s Digital & Engagement Officer also works with professionals who support young people. The post holder will continue to develop these relationships so that where possible, all young people living with a liver condition can gain access to the support they need.

If you are passionate about youth work and have the skills to develop innovative ways of reaching and connecting with young people, are hard-working and tenacious with an outgoing attitude, then we are interested in hearing from you. Weekend working and travelling nationwide will be required as part of this role.

Please note that a Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) check will be undertaken.

This is a permanent part-time position, 28 hours per week, to be worked over 4 days.

Closing date for applications is 9am, Monday 4th December.

Interviews for the post will take place on Wednesday 13th December at our offices in Birmingham city centre, a 5-10 minute walk from Snow Hill and New Street stations.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
