UK charity Children’s Liver Disease Foundation takes action against the effects of childhood liver disease, providing information, emotional support, research funds and a voice for all affected.

CLDF is looking for an experienced practitioner to join our Support Team as a Children and Families Officer to provide an innovative, unique child and family support service. 

As a key part of the Support team the Children and Families Officer will deliver family projects, resources and services including leaflet development, on-line information resources, themed projects and developing and delivering events and residentials.

The Children and Families Officer will undertake travel to hospitals and introduce themselves and CLDF to families, starting the development of their relationship with CLDF and building upon existing relationships. Providing improved outcomes for children and siblings affected by liver disease is at the heart of this service, as is ensuring that families can access support and advice relating to the educational needs of the children affected.

The Children and Families Officer will provide emotional support to families of a child with a liver disease, empowering them to take control of their lives, cope with chronic illness and signpost them to appropriate services looking at the family from a holistic viewpoint.

Weekend working away from home, supporting the residential/events programme ( 5/6 times per year) and travelling nationwide will be required. The post is supported by Children in Need funding.

This a permanent, part-time 4 days (28 hours) per week post.
