Job Description

We are recruiting a Chief Executive Officer (28 hours / part-time) who will lead Community Voluntary Partners (CVP) as it develops its work in regeneration in partnership with organisations in the public, private and third sectors.  In a challenging economic environment we need a dynamic CEO who will seek out new business opportunities and be able to win contracts while maintaining strong relationships with external partners. 

CVP’s mission is to challenge and address poverty, deprivation and social exclusion, empower local people to engage effectively in voluntary and community activity and support community influence over policy, planning, service development and delivery.  Partnership working is key to its effectiveness.

The CEO will drive the development and implementation of the strategic plan, manage the organisation and the staff team.

The successful candidate will:

  • show evidence of significant leadership within renewal/regeneration
  • have a track record of successful income generation and the ability to win projects
  • have experience of delivering ERDF projects or willingness to learn
  • demonstrate a proven ability to devise and implement strategic development and resource plans, particularly in the areas of service development, staff development and the management of organisational change
  • be capable of influencing external change and the ability to earn and maintain the trust of those people and organisations with whom CVP deals
  • have a track record of effective budget setting, financial management and budgetary control
  • be able to create a positive working environment in which equality and diversity are well-managed and staff are highly motivated
  • have a high level of computer literacy and proven track record of public speaking
  • have a minimum 10 years experience within the regeneration and community sector
