Charity Administrator
the humanimal trust

Job Description

CHARITY ADMINISTRATOR - Do you have the drive to succeed and help us move forward?

THE HUMANIMAL TRUST is a charity that promotes One Medicine, the idea that human and animal medicine should be ONE.  The similarities between animal and human biology are far more significant than the differences.  Scientific advances have demonstrated striking commonalities and links between species.  As such healthcare should be universal and advance hand in hand.  To many it may seem obvious, yet it is not happening routinely.  Work on one can and should benefit the other.

We fund research and education and are about to commence an initiative to provide a platform for human and veterinary medical professionals to share knowledge, find common ground and start working together in earnest.

The Trust is now looking to appoint a CHARITY ADMINISTRATOR to drive forward the administrative and supporter engagement function of this very special charity.

  • We want to get better at saying ‘thank you’ to our supporters.

  • We want to get better at directing enquiries to the right sources.

  • We want to mobilise those that are offering help.

  • We want to move faster and better to facilitate One Medicine in action.

We would like to hear from you if

  • you are a proficient and effective administrator

  • you are able to work autonomously and enjoy ‘getting on with it’

  • you have relevant experience of database administration and data management

  • you are comfortable with using digital communication and social media

And we would like to hear from you even more so if

  • you also have truly exceptional communication skills – on all levels, in any circumstance

  • you possess innate empathy, patience and resilience

  • you have a strong ‘customer’ focus

  • you are a resourceful and innovative problem solver

  • you have worked within the third sector previously or have knowledge of the sector through other means

  • you want to be part of something that may change the world for the better

  • you believe that what we are working towards may do just that!

Other than what is already listed above – here are some practical criteria - all the core skills you would expect to bring to a key administration role:

  • advanced Microsoft Office

  • CRM of some sort (Salesforce would be a nice fit)

  • good command of the English language

  • accurate minute taking

  • natural ability to prioritise

  • strong organisational skills

  • pride in a job well done

And for the icing on the cake – not vital but certainly of benefit:

  • bookkeeping experience

  • knowledge of the latest Data Protection legislation

  • an understanding of the impact of social media

  • previous involvement in supporting marketing campaigns

  • clean UK driving licence and own transport

Please apply by email through the link below, with a cover note and your CV.

Closing date for applications is 11 August 2017.
