CHARITY ACCOUNTANT

Salesian Provincial Office, Thornleigh House, Bolton

Salary range: At least in the range of £27,090 to £35,169 pa DOE

We are looking for a qualified accountant with a wide range of experience from basic bookkeeping through to  the preparation and presentation of year end accounts. This is an exciting role working in a small friendly team and reporting to the Finance Manager. There is scope for the right candidate to increase levels of responsibility in the future and to assist with the development of computerised accounting systems. On a day to day basis you will ensure the effective administration of finances at the Charity’s Head Office and across the charity as a whole.

You will be highly organised, motivated and methodical with a friendly disposition. You will be proficient in the use of ICT (especially MS Office and Outlook) and ideally will have experience in similar role/s e.g. preparation of accounts, Gift Aid, VAT claims, bank reconciliations and general administration. The ability to communicate effectively, pay attention to detail and take responsibility for the wide range of work is essential.

The Salesians of Don Bosco UK is the British Province of the Salesians of Don Bosco, an international Roman Catholic religious order working with young people principally through education, youth work, retreat centres, parishes and outreach. The Head Office of the Registered Charity is based in Bolton.
