Chairperson - Healthwatch Croydon

Healthwatch Croydon is the consumer champion for local health and social care services.  We work to get the best out of local health and social care services, responding to the voice of the local community.  We do this by engaging with the community to gather their views and experiences of local health and social care and use this information to help shape services.  This feedback is analysed and developed into evidence-based research. We have a statutory remit to advise decision-makers such as the Clinical Commissioning Group, local NHS trusts and Health and Wellbeing Board on the delivery of services and how they can be improved.

Over the past year we have embarked on an ambitious strategy to increase our scope and profile as an organisation.  Part of this has involved an organisational restructure and a move to a charity model.  We are currently looking for a Chairperson to head up our Board.

The key tasks include - 

• Providing leadership and direction to the Board so as to enable them to fulfil their responsibilities for the overall governance and strategic direction of the organisation.
• Working with the Chief Executive to ensure Healthwatch Croydon is managed efficiently, effectively and in line with its constitutional and statutory obligations, its code of conduct and best practice.
• Attending strategic level meetings representing Healthwatch Croydon.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to work with an organisation at a key point in their development.  We are looking for people to lead and support Healthwatch Croydon who share our ambition to achieve the best health and care services that are shaped by local needs and experiences.
