Job Description

Chair to the Board of Trustees

At Brigstowe, we strive for a world in which people living with HIV live long and healthy lives, free from poverty, stigma, prejudice and discrimination; as well as enhancing individuals’ quality of life.

As a skilled and committed individual you’ll lead our Board of Trustees, assisting with our strategic development.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Providing leadership to the Trustee board ensuring that all Trustees fulfil their duties and responsibilities for the proper governance of Brigstowe

• Supporting the Project Coordinator in meeting strategic goals

We’ve recently celebrated 21 years of providing services for HIV positive people and last year secured funding to develop three new services aimed at improving the lives of people living with HIV.

So if you want to improve the quality of life for people living with HIV, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll need the time and energy to make a difference, the diplomacy to manage a committed Board of Trustees, excellent communication skills to work with staff and volunteers on new initiatives and astute business skills. In return we can offer you a varied and interesting role with relevant training, ongoing support (including reasonable travel expenses to all volunteers).

Please note that you would be required to attend trustee meetings which are currently held on Wednesdays every six weeks between 6.30pm and 8pm. You would also need to do several hours of work each week outside of trustee meetings including liaising closely with the Project Coordinator – we’d be happy to discuss this or any other aspects of the role in more detail before you apply for the role.

If you would like more information on this role, please get in touch. We welcome applicants from any section of the community and particularly from people living or affected by HIV.

The deadline for this round of recruitment is 9am on Monday 16th October 2017. We look forward to receiving your application.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
