The Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust seek to appoint a new Chair to lead our Board of Trustees and to work together with the Charity’s CEO and Executive team.  It is hoped that the new Chair will bring experience, skills and expertise to strengthen the already very successful and stable Trust at this exciting time. 

The Chair of Trustees will:

• Provide leadership and direction to the Board of Trustees and enable the Board to fulfil its responsibilities for the overall governance and strategic direction of the Charity.
• Ensure that the Charity pursues its objects as defined in its governing document, charity law, company law and other relevant legislation/regulations.
• Support and - where appropriate - challenge the CEO and ensure that the Board functions as a unit and works closely with the entire Executive Team to achieve agreed objectives.
• Act as an ambassador and be the public face of the Charity (in partnership with the CEO).

Note: the Chair of Trustees acts as the link between the Board of Trustees and the CEO/Executive Team of the Charity.  The role of the Chair has no individual responsibility or influence, over and above that of the position of Trustee.
