Job Description

Bliss, the leading UK charity working to ensure that every baby born premature or sick has the best chance of survival and quality of life, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced campaigns and policy professional to lead our Campaigns and Policy Team for a year.

Full Job Description:

You could make a real difference to the 90,000 babies born premature or sick in the UK each year. Are you up to the challenge?

It will be your role to keep the needs of premature and sick babies high on the political and healthcare agenda. You will be responsible for leading the Campaigns and Policy Team over the course of 2017, taking forward the development of new policy solutions to tackle challenges facing services for premature and sick babies, communicating these effectively and persuasively to policy makers, and inspiring and managing a small but highly-motivated team.

The post holder will also be expected to have significant input into Bliss’ wider work as part of the cross-organisational management team, and will be responsible for setting and monitoring budgets, setting and implementing operational plans, and evaluating performance.

Bliss aims to be a flexible employer where possible and we offer a range of benefits including family-friendly working practices, 25 days’ annual leave, season ticket/cycle loan and childcare vouchers.

The closing date for applications is Monday 19 September 2016 at 9am.

Please submit your CV and equal opportunities form, along with a supporting statement describing how you meet the criteria in the person specification online or via post to the HR Officer, Bliss, Chapter House, 18-20 Crucifix Lane, London, SE1 3JW. This information is used when shortlisting candidates for interview.

First interviews will be held on 28 September and second interviews will be held in the week beginning 3 October.
