Cambridge University Students’ Union is seeking their new Chief Executive to maintain the Union’s course to be one of the most effective, change-making student charities around. The CEO will provide focused, determined and disciplined execution of our bold strategic plan, and successfully sustain the momentum in the student-led charity through engagement from elected officials and our committed staff team.

The Union has been on a long journey of improvement; student leaders, staff and trustees at the union feel the Union has matured in recent years into a powerful agitator for change at the historic institution. Our new CEO will champion this appetite for change across the charity and among our most important stakeholders, and will continue to grow the Union’s potential to match the big ambitions of, and issues important to, our students.

The ideal candidate will be a low-ego manager, politically astute and high in emotional intelligence; they’ll achieve in the role by promoting leadership in others and championing teamwork and collaboration as key facets of the Union’s personality. They must be an all-rounder: as comfortable with financial systems and data as with business planning, HR and managing people; they’ll be sufficiently hands-on, but adept at looking ahead, sizing up the landscape and stepping out of situations in order to present solutions and ways forward.

Note: Salary is £45k-55k depending on experience
