Job Description

BIHR is looking for a skilled legal researcher with a flair for plain language and engaging communications to join our team as a Research and Communications Assistant. You will have a background in the law, either as a recent graduate or through other transferable experience. You must have an excellent knowledge of the Human Rights Act both within and beyond the courtrooms. You will need to bring the ability to communicate complex legal information to non-legal audiences through a range of materials including news items, blogs, case notes, guide books and supporting training development. The ability to manage competing deadlines and be responsive to media developments will be important. Experience of coordinating multiple social media channels, including development of content and images, or the willingness to learn these quickly, is essential.

You will be committed to working in a busy small team and bring a flexible attitude and approach. This position is primarily based in BIHR’s offices in London. However BIHR works across the UK so there may be the occasional travel and overnight stay required.

This is a part-time position of 3 or possibly 4 days a week for 6 months. The salary is £20,000 pa pro rata.
