Job Description

Are you a highly motivated person, passionate about the role human rights can play in people’s everyday lives? Do you want to be at the forefront of empowering people to know what human rights are, to put human rights into practice, taking them from the law books and into our communities?

BIHR is looking for a dynamic and accomplished person to join our team as a Human Rights Officer for a fixed term of 6 months (extension subject to funding).  You will bring experience of developing and delivering practical education, training and support for voluntary and public sector organisations. You will bring an excellent working knowledge of the Human Rights Act and how this can be a tool to deliver better, more accountable, public services, particularly in health and social care. You will be an excellent communicator demonstrating the ability to translate complex legal standards into accessible and practical information. You will be a “people-person” able to build relationships and partnerships internally and externally. You will be committed to working in a busy small team and bring a flexible attitude and approach.

This position is based in London; however BIHR works across the UK and this post involves regular travel and overnight stays.

This is a part-time post of 4 days a week, for a fixed period of 6 months. The salary is £28,000 pa pro rata.
