Job Description

BIG Stop charity seeks a Chief Development Officer to join our Senior Leadership Team. The Chief Development Officer (CDO) will serve as a member of the Senior leadership team for BIG Stop Charity, overseeing global major giving. Due to the organisation’s unique BIGchange 100% model, this leader will be responsible for raising major donor revenue for both charity projects and operations funding. 

In partnership with our Founder-CEO, UK Director and board of trustees, the CDO will design, lead and implement a sustainable development strategy to increase philanthropic revenue from a diverse portfolio of high net worth supporters/companies as well as grants and funding across the United Kingdom.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced and entrepreneurial organisation as part of a collaborative and committed team. He/she will have a positive, "can-do" attitude; practice innovative thinking and will be flexible and team-oriented. He/she will possess a high degree of initiative, will take calculated risks, measure performance and demonstrate an overall drive to build lasting fundraising success for the organisation. 

  • This position reports directly to the Global Chief Executive Officer of BIG Stop Charity. 
  • The successful candidate will be passionate and committed to the core beliefs of the organisation.
  • This position resides within BIG Stop’s United Kingdom operation in Leicester. BIG Stop Charity accept applications from across the UK, support for relocation will be given. 
  • The position offers a salary of £50,000 per annum.
  • This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
  • There is a six (6) month probationary period.
