Job Description

Building a diverse Board which is inclusive and reflective of the people with whom we work is important to us.  We have an opportunity to include neuro-diverse people with on our Board of Trustees, our committee and our advisory panels who help to shape our work with children, adults and families with autism.

We have ambitious plans for Autism Wessex after celebrating 50 years of working with people with autism in the region. You would be part of leading development and change, sharing your perceptions and experience to influence the development of our services and practice. Our aim is to increase our impact, partnership and collaboration across the region but we must do that in a way which is informed by and inclusive of the neuro-diverse community.

If you have autism or a related condition, we need you to help us be more autism friendly and inclusive.

We are also seeking to build our experience of disability challenges in the region, if you are interested in our work, have skills you might offer and have a disability; we would like to hear from you.

Trustees can expect to:

  • Attend quarterly Board meetings and an annual planning day;
  • Take part in sub-committees to help advise us;
  • Attend some events;
  • Support some fundraising events;
  • Receive training and support

Travel and out of pocket expenses can be reimbursed.

About Us

Autism Wessex provides varied and far reaching services to anyone affected by autism in the region. Services include social care and support, residential services, information & advice and education at Portfield School for 3 to 19 year olds.
