Job Description

italk is the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service provided in partnership between Solent Mind and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, which is one of the largest IAPT services in the country

Solent Mind provides mental health support to communities across Southampton, Portsmouth and Hampshire. 

We are now recruiting for Step 2 IAPT Assistant Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners 

In this role you will support the Step 2 Clinical Team at italk, which presents an ideal opportunity for psychology graduates or mental health workers to work in an IAPT service.

Primarily the post holders will deliver treatments to patients through groups and cCBT, so excellent presentation skills, IT skills and a good level of written and spoken English are essential. You will also provide administrative support to the clinical team, which will enable you to gain a deeper understanding of the IAPT model and develop your clinical skills and knowledge.

Initially, the role will be based at our Contact Centre in Eastleigh; however, the service will be moving out to locality hubs in the areas we serve in the coming months and these will become the main base. It is an expectation that Practitioners will also facilitate weekly group treatments and work a minimum of 2 evenings per week.

You will need to be highly motivated and resilient to cope with the demands of working in this large, high volume service. Successful candidates will also need to have strong communication skills, professional telephone manner and excellent organisational skills.
