Assistant Coordinator for court-based volunteer service
psu

Job Description

Assistant Coordinator of volunteer service – up to £19,561

Are you motivated to help others? Do you enjoy problem-solving? Can you keep calm under pressure?

The Personal Support Unit (PSU) is a growing independent charity that provides much-needed practical and emotional support to people dealing with the court process without the benefit of legal representation. Most are frightened of, and unfamiliar with, the courts and may be in danger of losing their homes, their children or their livelihoods.

This highly-regarded, energetic and friendly charity, is now seeking an Assistant Coordinator to help run its flagship service at the Royal Courts of Justice and associated locations in London, and to support the national expansion of the service.

Working to the RCJ Coordinator, you will help with recruiting, training and supporting volunteers; facilitating day-to-day operations over multiple sites; contributing to an ambitious fundraising target; and providing set-up support to new PSUs across the country.

You will be an outstanding and engaging communicator, as well as a practical, well organised and hardworking individual, preferably with experience in the voluntary sector or equivalent transferable experience. You will be joining the PSU at a time of rapid expansion, and you'll be ready to support new PSUs as well as day-to-day operations in London.

Applicants should apply with a CV and a covering letter explaining persuasively why we should offer you the post. It is important that your letter should provide evidence of the criteria detailed in the person specification.

Closing date: Midnight Sunday 4th September 2016.

Interviews will be held during the week beginning 19th September 2016.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
