Regional Business Development Manager – West Midlands (#rethinkingrefugee)

Ashley Community Housing (ACH) is a social enterprise specialising in the economic, social and civic integration of refugees through accommodation and community based training support. Since we started 2008 we have successfully resettled over 2500 refugees in this time and are now a leading provider of resettlement services for refugee and newly arrived communities in the UK. Our #rethinkingrefugee portfolios of community and business solutions are award winning and are designed to tackle the societal challenge of refugee resettlement. 

We are now recruiting for a business development specialist to join our small and dynamic team to support us to develop further our portfolio of services and enhance our partnerships with corporate businesses, statutory bodies and social enterprises. You will be joining a dynamic team of consultants with backgrounds in management consultancy, social enterprise, international development and corporate social responsibility, political and economic development who share our passion for our #rethinkingrefugee work.

As a Regional Business Development Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • actively driving and promoting marketing activities, in together with our Marketing team
  • research and evaluate new and current markets, customers and stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth
  • participate in internal and external promotional events and functions to enhance our brand
  • create market demand for new, existing and bespoke products to meet customer needs whether statutory agencies, businesses or refugee.

Role Dimensions

To supplement our existing team, we are seeking a candidate who will bring expertise in branding, marketing and/or communications, with proven experience in securing major contracts and tenders from businesses and statutory bodies. The successful candidate will join us as a senior member of our team, with the opportunity to shape the growth of an exciting social business working at the cutting edge of corporate community engagement, venture philanthropy and social enterprise.

Your work will focus on bridging the gap between the private sector and refugee social issues across the West Midlands. You will be an important advocate behind our pioneering #rethinkingrefugee work, which has received a high level of initial interest from Service Directors, Heads of HR Depts and other decision makers. As Regional Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in converting these interests into tangible income generating projects, as well as helping to promote our expertise and services to new client groups.

As an integral member of our entrepreneurial team, you will get the opportunity to contribute towards our projects with businesses, charities, social enterprises and philanthropists helping to implement social change programmes on the ground. This role reports directly to the Senior Business Development manager and you will be supported by a very capable and energetic team of consultants.
