Alzheimer's & Dementia Support Services is an amazing, award winning organisation that works with a very special client group. The newly appointed CEO would be leading the organisations through its next phase and be delivering on very important work. Key aspects of the role include: -
- Provide leadership and management for Alzheimer’s & Dementia Support Services, seeking out viable new opportunities, addressing organisational challenges and ensuring the highest levels of compliance with all relevant bodies
- Liaise with the Board and drive the development of the charity’s strategic vision and agreed business plan and lead upon its implementation, working towards the charity’s long-term sustainability
- Liaise with the Board to ensure that the charity’s overall governance structure, policies and procedures are appropriate and effective, meeting all legal, regulatory and best practice needs
- Provide in a timely manner all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions
- Lead the promotion and development of Alzheimer’s & Dementia Support Services, raising the charity’s profile, maximising its reach and capitalising on new funding opportunities.
- Ensure all services, contracts and projects are delivered to the highest standards in relation to time-scale, targets and budgets
- Ensure the maintenance and efficient use of the charity’s assets and resources
- Ensure financial performance and viability to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements which accurately reflect the financial position of Alzheimer’s & Dementia Support Services, operate within the approved budget and maintain Alzheimer’s & Dementia Support Services in a positive financial position
- Maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders: staff, volunteers, clients, carers, health and social care professionals, commissioners, funders, external contractors, and the wider community.
- Ensure the organisation works to champion and improve support to people with dementia, their carers and improve the knowledge and understanding of these issues amongst relevant bodies and the wider public.
- Develop the charity’s business model and maximise income alongside maintaining budgetary control, ensuring all targets are met and the services are sustainable
- Line manage the Senior Management Team, promoting a culture of high performance where priorities are made explicit, monitored and evaluated, to ensure appropriate personnel management systems are implemented throughout the organisation.
- Actively promote and protect client confidentiality, ensuring all paper and electronic files are complete, accurate and secure, promoting client dignity in all areas of the organisation.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
EXPERIENCE
Evidence of strategic thinking and vision, with the ability to analyse complex concepts and information
Proven leadership qualities and change management abilities
Significant senior management experience, and experience of business planning and business development
Significant experience in performance management and quality assurance
Experience of fundraising and making applications to funding bodies
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Able to inspire, lead, and motivate staff
Excellent financial management skills commensurate with managing an annual budget of over £1.2 million
The ability to raise and maintain the profile of the organisation
Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
Presentation skills
Ability to respond appropriately to crisis situations
KNOWLEDGE
An understanding of dementia and the needs of people with dementia and their carers
An understanding of relevant legislation including GDPR, Health &Safety, Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding / Adult protection
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
