Volunteering with Action Tutoring is an easy and rewarding way to make a difference to the lives of young people living in your community. By volunteering and tutoring for just one hour a week, you will be able to directly support pupils facing socio-economic disadvantages to build their confidence and help ensure they leave school with the grades needed to build a bright future.

We are looking for people to volunteer as either English or maths tutors in one of our partner primary or secondary schools across Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Liverpool, London, Newcastle and Sheffield. Our programmes start running towards the beginning of each school term and you’ll be able to pick a time and a location that is right for you. Training and specialist resources will also be provided.

We generally require our tutors to either be educated to degree level, or to be studying for a degree, and to have a B grade (or above) at A Level (or equivalent) in the subject they wish to tutor.English or maths-related A Level subjects are also considered, such as: history, politics or sociology (for English tutors) and physics, chemistry and economics (for maths tutors). Good communication skills, patient, committed and resilient.
