Job Description

Galop is delighted to have received funding for an LGBT+ Domestic Abuse Advocate as part of the Victim Support led Integrated Victim and Witness Service – a partnership funded by the Mayor’s Office for Policing & Crime (MOPAC). The overall aim of the project is to provide an integrated service for victims and witnesses of crime, including those affected by domestic abuse, as well as offer restorative justice and support for those going to court. This will ensure victims and witnesses receive a seamless journey through the criminal justice system.

The LGBT+ Domestic Violence Advocate will join Galop’s LGBT+ domestic abuse service team and will provide advocacy and support to LGBT+ adults experiencing domestic violence and abuse, including those with multiple needs and at high risk of violence and abuse.

The advocate will be expected to be IDVA qualified, or have substantive experience advocating for victims/survivors of domestic violence and abuse. IDVA training will be provided for candidates who do not have an IDVA qualification.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
