Job Description

The Supporter Relations Coordinator (SRC) will be a key member of the Humanimal Trust team supporting the work of the charity as it approaches its fifth anniversary.  The SRC will be the first point of contact for many supporters, playing a major role and providing first class care in supporter stewardship, including communications, fundraising and marketing activities.

The role represents a unique opportunity to be involved at the core of a hugely exciting and pivotal stage in the charity’s development and a period of rapid growth. The SRC will be involved across the work of Humanimal Trust, with opportunity for the right candidate to progress within the charity as it grows.

Main Role Activities

  • Support the Development Manager and Science Officer with projects, events and activities as needed. In particular:
    • Support the development of Trust communication and marketing materials, including social media updates, Humanimal Hub management and development, email newsletter distribution, website updates and written material development
    • Support the work, management and development of the volunteer Ambassador team
  • Act as the initial point of contact for incoming telephone calls as well as general email and post enquiries
  • Accurately upload supporter details to the charity database, acknowledging and thanking supporters for any donations received
  • Oversee the timely sending out of information and fundraising packs to supporters
  • Opportunity to attend and run events to promote and raise awareness of the work of the Trust

Skills and Experience

  • Empathy, enthusiasm and understanding of the objectives of Humanimal Trust and of One Medicine
  • Experience of working or volunteering within the third sector – ideally in a health, medical or animal welfare organisation
  • Self-confidence with strong interpersonal skills able to communicate and develop relationships with a variety of people
  • Fundraising experience: mailings, events
  • Experience of managing or supervising volunteers
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of marketing, particularly digital marketing
  • Very strong organised approach; ability to multi-task and work to competing and often tight deadlines
  • Strong team player but also able to work independently
  • Proven attention to detail
  • A willingness to travel within the UK and work some weekends/evenings as needed
  • Proficient IT user familiar with experience using software packages including Excel, Word and ideally Salesforce CRM system
  • A strong desire to make a positive difference to the world

Terms

  • This is a full time position based at the Humanimal Trust office in Godalming, Surrey
  • Salary is up to £21,000 depending on experience
  • A probationary review will take place after 6 months
