Job Description

POhWER is currently looking to strengthen its Board of Trustees.

About POhWER

POhWER is a national charity supporting 40,000 people a year living with mental illness, disability or dementia to have a stronger voice so they can uphold their rights and get the care they need. Our specialist advocate team empower clients to help themselves.

POhWER recognises the increasing demand and is keen to respond proactively to the growing numbers needing support in a fast-changing and challenging commissioning marketplace.

What POhWER requires

POhWER is currently looking to strengthen its Board of Trustees through the recruitment of individuals with business and entrepreneurial skills.

To ensure our strategy and governance are the highest quality and focused on our service users we are particularly seeking trustees with the following experience and expertise:

  • Advocacy and Human Rights
  • Fundraising & Social Enterprise
  • Digital Marketing/IT
  • Health and Social Care
  • Human Resources

In addition, if you have experience at a senior level in business or charitable management we would also welcome your application. You could help POhWER, the UK's leading advocacy organisation, become even more diverse and effective as its Board of Trustees implements an exciting and forward thinking strategic plan for the next 3 - 5 years.

Applicants must be committed to POhWER’s values, good at working proactively, be effective team players and be strategic thinkers with high-level experience and expertise in their field.
