OUTREACH OFFICER (6-month contract)

• Six month contract (October 2018-March 2019)
• Full time role (40 hours per week)
• Salary £24,000 pro rata (+ monthly travel card)

North London Cares is seeking an approachable, empathetic, organised and resilient people-person for a six month period, helping to manage our vital Winter Wellbeing outreach project.

The project will run from October 2018 to March 2019, and through a series of interactions and interventions will help older neighbours in Camden and Islington to stay warm, active, healthy and connected during the most isolating time of year.

Reporting to our Head of Programmes and working with our experienced Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for communicating regularly with older people; organising the sourcing and delivery of various items to help ensure our older neighbours are neither left alone nor left behind during winter; reaching out to older people by door-knocking, in supermarkets, chemists, GP surgeries and other community locations;and vital record keeping.

So we need someone who loves working with people, who can relate to and build trust with neighbours from all backgrounds including those in difficult situations, and who has high quality communication and administrative skills.
